Monday Drop-In
Arts4All
Every Monday at the sanctuary of the DPNCHC, Arts4All runs a drop-in program where community members gather to explore creativity, connect with others, and participate in a variety of art-based activities designed to inspire and support self-expression. I was able to work at Arts4All as a part of my internship for my final semester of a graduate certificate course in Addiction and Mental Health.
My roles: Facilitator, Program Co-ordinator, Community Collaborator
Every new season at Arts4All brings a fresh theme, offering participants a unique lens through which to explore their creativity. During my time with Arts4All, the theme was "Homes We Carry." This theme invited participants to reflect on and express what the concept of "home" means to them. It encouraged them to delve into their personal stories, memories, and emotions tied to the idea of home—whether it’s a physical space, a feeling, or the people and experiences that shape their sense of belonging.
An Evening of Storytelling
An Evening of Music and Singing
Beyond art-making, the Monday program emphasizes fostering relationships. From my experience at Arts4All, one of the most heart-warming aspects was seeing participants find comfort in the program’s supportive atmosphere. It became a space where they could connect with others, explore new ideas, and celebrate their creativity. Many participants shared how the program helped them feel less isolated in what they were going through, offering a sense of community where they could share both their burdens and their joys.
